For admission to this course, a student must pass class 12 in science preferably PCB(Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English. A minimum of 40% marks must be obtained in aggregate in the class 12 examination. Those students who have passed vocation ANM under the CBSE board or other equivalent board that is recognized by Indian Nursing Council are also eligible to apply for the course. Apart from these eligibility criteria, the candidate must be medically fit.

The course duration is 3.5 years in which the students have to complete a 6 months internship in the last 6 months of the course. One of the essential criteria of GNM nursing colleges for offering GNM nursing courses after 12th Arts or commerce is that students must secure a minimum of 40% marks in English and other subjects.


For admission in Bachelor of Science(Nursing), a candidate shall be 17 years of age and have passed class 12 with science(PCB) and English as a core or elective subject. The candidate must score at least 45% marks in the 12th. This is one of the popular nursing courses after 12th that usually the candidates prefer.
